Our Vision & Team

OIL NUT BAY, BVI

As Corcoran’s first global brand affiliate, Oil Nut Bay Properties joined forces with New York-based real estate powerhouse, Corcoran, to launch Corcoran BVI in 2021. Corcoran BVI brings more than three decades of industry experience to the Caribbean. Headquartered at Oil Nut Bay on Virgin Gorda’s North Sound area, we operate as both a brokerage and developer throughout the British Virgin Islands, specializing in unique living environments that exist in ecological harmony with the land. Corcoran BVI is led by visionary Chairman David V. Johnson, whose love affair with real estate began over 30 years ago.

David V Johnson

Chairman, Victor International Corporation & Victor BVI

David V. Johnson, Chairman of Victor International Corporation and Victor BVI, is internationally respected as a successful entrepreneur and luxury community developer.

In 2003, Johnson and Bay Harbor (the largest reclamation project in the US in 1995) were awarded the prestigious International Award of Excellence by the Urban Land Institute for excellence in design, planning and development. Once named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young, Johnson has also been hailed as Environmentalist of the Year, 2006 Developer of the Year, and the 2012 recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award in the British Virgin Islands. Johnson also was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Wharton University and has most recently been awarded the Urban Land Institute Michigan’s 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award.

After overcoming a broken neck in a 1978 swimming pool accident, Johnson created Oil Nut Bay, a generational family, low-density resort community on an amazing 400 acres on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda. He established the Victor Foundation in the US, providing charitable contributions to foster programs for children and young adults. He then established the North Sound Foundation in the BVI, to support the surrounding communities, raising funds dedicated to helping navigate the economic fallout from the pandemic, teaching all local children how to swim, building elementary schools, playgrounds and outfitting local clinics with the medical equipment they need.

Johnson is active in Urban Land Institute, was a former Trustee and is a Governor for ULI Foundation. Memberships include the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO), Chief Executive Officers (CEO) and he has served as a State of Michigan Waterways Commissioner. In addition to his degree from Michigan State University, Johnson holds an honorary doctorate from Cleary
University in Ann Arbor, Michigan and is an alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School where he has completed the President’s Program in Leadership for 25+ years.

As with Oil Nut Bay, Johnson has curated a world class team at Corcoran BVI to ensure his vision is executed with professionalism and integrity.
